Helping Student-Athletes Take Control of Their NIL Income With Confidence
Navigating NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) income can feel exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Unburdened provides guidance, structure, and support to help student-athletes make smart, confident money decisions now and in the future.
NIL Income Is an Incredible Opportunity — If You Have a Plan
For many student-athletes, NIL income is the first experience managing real money, contracts, and financial responsibility. While the opportunity is exciting, it often comes with confusion and pressure.
The reality NIL athletes face:
“I’m getting paid… now what?”
No one has taught you how to manage irregular income.
Pressure to spend quickly or keep up socially.
Uncertainty around taxes and financial obligations.
Parents unsure how involved they should be.
Big decisions being made without a financial framework.
At Unburdened, I help student-athletes slow the process down and create a simple, organized approach to money. We focus on practical steps, healthy habits, and clear direction — so the income you earn today can support the goals you have for tomorrow.
This isn’t about complicated investing or judgment. It’s about building confidence, clarity, and a foundation that lasts long after your athletic career.
A Different Kind of Financial Support
Unlike traditional financial services, Unburdened doesn’t sell products or manage investments.
Instead, my approach is focused on:
Education over pressure
Simplicity over complexity
Habits over hype
Confidence over confusion
As a financial coach who is passionate about helping young adults make wise decisions, I meet athletes where they are — with encouragement, structure, and practical guidance for real life.
This is a judgment-free space focused on progress, not perfection.
How The Coaching Process Works
I make organizing your finances simple and achievable, with a clear, step-by-step process:
Discovery: Talk about your goals, challenges, and what’s stressing you out. This can be in-person (if in the Springfield, MO, area) or virtual and is three one-hour sessions. Investment: $250
Customized Plan: Get a plan tailored to your unique situation.
Ongoing Support & Coaching: Ongoing coaching plans are available if you would like to continue past the Discovery sessions.
Results & Peace of Mind: Feel in control of your money and your future.
How Unburdened Supports Student-Athletes
My coaching is practical, supportive, and customized to each athlete’s real-life schedule, responsibilities, and goals.
Simple Money Systems: Create a clear structure for spending, saving, and giving — without overwhelm or guilt.
NIL & Tax Awareness: Understand what to expect at tax time and learn how to avoid surprises that catch many athletes off guard.
Goal & Future Planning: Identify short- and long-term goals and make sure your NIL income is working toward them.
Confidence & Clarity: Replace uncertainty with confidence as you learn to make informed financial decisions.

FAQs
Is this financial advising or investment management?
No. I do not sell investments or provide portfolio management. This is coaching focused on financial organization, education, and strong money habits.
Can parents be involved?
Yes, and in many cases it is encouraged.
Do you work with teams and universities?
Yes. I offer group workshops and customized programs for athletic departments.
What if I’m new to NIL?
That’s actually the best time to start. We can build smart habits from the beginning.
Is this only for athletes planning to go pro?
No. This is for any athlete earning or preparing to earn NIL income or income related to being a student-athlete, whether that is at the high school level (for states that allow that) or in NAIA, NCAA-I, II & III, and JuCo programs.
